Troubleshooting
Ordered diagnostic guides — not a generic "restart and update your drivers" checklist.
Display-connection problems can originate at any link in the chain — the laptop's own port, the dock, the cable, or the monitor's input — and a symptom like "no signal" looks identical regardless of which one failed. These guides are ordered by dependency: a step comes first when the steps after it only matter if it passes — there is no point debugging bandwidth if the cable is not seated. Each guide also says which of its steps the Compatibility Checker can confirm for a dock and monitor, and which it cannot (the laptop's port and the adapter or cable are outside what it evaluates today).
Diagnose a connection
Each guide is ordered by dependency — the checks that later steps rely on come first — not alphabetically or by publish date.
